Journal Number 4

I think I would be Harriet Tubman because she did a good deed and helped a lot of slaves get away. I would love to have the power to go against authority and the law. She inspires a lot of people because she was strongwilled and did what she thought was right. She was also praised by a lot of people. I would love to do something and have everyone praise me for it. I also love how it was a women who was fighting back and made a difference.

Journal Number 5

If I could donate 1 million dollars to anywhere in the world it would be to africa. I would make sure theirs schools and colleges so that they could get a good education. I would build a store to make sure everyone has food and especially fresh water. I would make sure everyone has access to a library so that they could gain as much information as possible. I would make sure everyone has clothes and shoes. Last but not least I would have people build houses for everyone so that no one has to sleep outside. But who really knows if they would want that because they are smarter then us in there own way. In ways such as they can survive with animals and we cant. Also they know how to survive off nothing.

Journal Number 6

I tried to effect the community by volunteering at the gay-straight alliance organization. What I helped with was bringing the community an awarness of the gay community. Also I helped bring the 2 communities together. I think it was a huge success because everyone had a good time and everyone got along. It help both communities understand from a different point of view.

Journal Number 7

If I could introduce anything to a primitive culture it would have to be medicine. I would introduce medicine because a lot of other cultures die from diseases and they don't know how to cure them. If I could introduce them to medicine I have a feeling it would save over a million lifes. It aslo helps that I wanna become a doctor because I could possibly travel the world and cure diseases. It would also be helpful to know medicine because they could know what can be cured and what can't.

If I could describe myself by a quote it would be " Theres a little crazy in everyone." If you were one of my friends you would know how that quote relates to me. I think it relates to me because at times i might become crazy. Sometimes im normal but when I get bored a whole other side comes out. I get really hyper and do what ever I want and don't think twice about doin it. I laugh A LOT !!!! and just act crazy.

If I had the authority to establish a holiday it would be called Friendly Day. It would be a day were everyone from morning till night would be kind and generous to everyone. It would be on June 3. Everyone would have to wear happy colors nothing dark. Happy colors would include those of the rainbow. On that day everyone would have to compliment someone they don't know.

I think the best advice I have ever recieved would have to be when someone told me the key to success is to keep moving foward. It was the best because it made me think that no matter what I go through, if I just keep moving foward n push through it I will soon be successful. Also it kind of gave me power to work hard and never give up. Don't let the past affect me so bad that I throw away my life.

I wish a university would ask me: In what ways do you think our school will help benefit you to getting your future career?

I would respond by saying your school will benefit me because it will challenge me to work hard and meet the expectations and I like a challenge. Your school meets everything I could ask for in a school. Your school has the number one medical place and i'm interested to be a pediatrician which has to do with medical.

(baby cries) and then shatina shaquanda serrano was born. A half black half purto rican person, brown hair and eyes. She was a very normal child. She was born at scripts hospital in philadelphia. In elementary she was way more advanced then other kids her age. She excelled in math. In middle school she got seperated from her friends and was devasted. She went to castle park middle school. She tryed out for the basketball team and made it. She became ecstatic that she was not alone anymore and made friends. As she continued to grow up she continued to get good grades and excel in math. She got invited to join the IB program. To be continued.....

Dear roommate,

            My name is Shatina Serrano. I'm looking foward to being your roommate. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I am half black, half purto rican. I'm from California but I used to live in Philadelphia when I was little. I used to live with my mom and my dad and i have a little sister who is 10 years old. I graduated from Castle Park High School and in there I was in the IB program. IB stands for international bachelorette. It's a program in high school that you get invited into and if you past tests they give you, you get college credit that way you start off as a sophmore in college instead of a freshman. My favorite sport is basketball. In high school though I ran track besides playin basketball. My favorite subject in school is math. I hate english and history. My favorite color is purple. Im a very out going, sports loving, and artistic person. I think thats about it. Can't wait to meet you.

I think the quote " He does not posses wealth, it posses him " is some what true some what not true. I think its true because when a person has money they think they're all that. They also think that their better then everyone else and they end up by themselve. I think that it's not true too because I have always heard growing up that money doesn't change you it changes the people around you. Thats true too because when you have money all of a sudden everyone becomes your friend and then you dont know whos your real friends and whos faking it.

I think the most valuable contribution I could make to a college would be my creativity and my sports men ship. I think my creativity art wise because im a very good drawer. When I look at something I could draw it. I also think I could be artistic when I put my mind to it and that would be a good aspect to have at a college. For sports I could do good in basketball. If a college were to have me on a team I think my talent could really help out the team. Also im a very good team mate and work well with people and every college would love to have a person that works well with people.

Journal Number 16

A significant experience for me would have to be when I finally became un-shy around people. Through out my life I have always loved basketball but my elementary school never had one and i was always to shy to either ask or start one. When i got to middle school I was still shy but then I met this girl and she kind of forced me to try out for basketball. Guess what I made the team!!! I was so shy but as soon as I made the team I realized  there was no reason to be shy. Of course playin in basketball games got me not to be shy to...But I was so proud of my self for over coming my fear. This effected my life because now im not afraid to be who I am or to go for anything I want. Yes, sometimes during basketball games I get nervous, everyone does, but at least im not scared.

Well there is a lot of talk about Castle Park this year. I think the issue of all the problems at Castle Park is important to me and affects me. It's important to me because I go to a fantastic school but to everybody else they think the school is trash or a joke. People always talk about stuff  they don't' know. I think if people  ignore the faults of my school and focus on important things it would be better. The incident that just happen with the teacher using meth affects me because even though I wasn't her student, I think like because of her stupidity I feel if I even say I'm from castle park people will automatically assume I had something to do with. Also like that follows me even when i apply to college because they would automatically the school I came from once I mention the name.

If I could change two things about our school it would have to be our school spirt and our sports area. I would change our school spirit because too many people talk about our school and you shouldn't talk stuff about your own school. Also because through all the things Castle Park High is going through if everyone were to have school spirit maybe we could go somewhere and make step forward instead of making steps back. I would also change our sports area because in my opinion I feel that a lot of money goes to football. Not only does a lot of money goes to football but just to guy sports in general. I'm a girl and this personally affects me because as being a sports girl I know from experience that we always get the short end of the stick. We always have to fund raise if we need things and pay from our pockets or else we get nothing and in my opinion I just don't see the fairness in that. I think that their should be equality between the two sexes and not just a favorable one.

In my opinion school should be mandatory to attend. The whole purpose of school is to inform you and teach you what and what not to do in life in order to succeed in life. With out school people would have nothing to work at and get better at. School also gives us a social life cause not every one would be able to see each other with out school. If school was not mandatory I feel that we would have a lot of pot heads and drunk people in the world. Also that the world would be corrupt. With out school people wouldn't be smart and they would learn anything. If people didn't learn anything they wouldn't be able to get a decent job and the economy would be destroyed. If people didn't get jobs there would be a lot of homeless people and the world would probably be competition. The world would turn in to a world of the best fit and if you couldn't be the best fit then you would not exist. Also not trying to be mean but a lot of people would probably end up looking like this :

Journal Number 20

If I could talk to any animal in the world it would have  to be a giraffe. The reason I would pick a giraffe, beside the fact that I love them, they have the longest neck ever. Not only could you find them in your zoo, you could travel to Africa and explore their homeland. There favorite food is treetop acacia buds. Some interesting facts are that a giraffes legs alone are taller than humans. They can run 35 miles an hour over short distance. I would ask them how their necks came to be. Also I would ask them if I could pet them and ride their backs. You never know they could know be smarter then us.
